What makes Trane a better buy?

Advertisers spend a ton of money getting us to think their product is the best. Brand recognition increases sales and buyer confidence, but sometimes the product behind the name doesn’t always stack up to the reputation. Trane is not one of those products. Trane air conditioners are worth their cost, and here’s why.

Trane produces high quality central air conditioner and heat pump products and has been in the business since 1885. Years have been spent refining the efficiency and effectiveness of their parts even down to the screws that are coated in Teflon. Their systems use a Spine Fin™ coil that is reliable and holds up better over time due to its resistance to corrosion and ability to exchange heat. Trane proudly manufactures its own compressor which they call the Climatuff™. This in-house control allows them to supervise the quality of this vital part of the unit. Trane compressors are built to last and are one of the main reasons their tagline is “It’s hard to stop a Trane!”

In addition, each part must pass the company’s environmental test at their lab in Tyler, Texas. For 16 weeks, the parts are exposed to a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat and cold and salt water spray. Passing these types of tests means they feel confident in providing a standard 10-year warranty for parts and labor.

Regardless of which HVAC system you purchase, the unit’s quality will not matter if it is improperly installed. This is where Trane has an advantage above other brands. Installation guidelines are strict and required of every contractor that is approved to sell and install Trane products. Every year Trane provides training and asks dealers to show dedication to satisfying their customers.

Even with these great qualities, it is still important to perform proper maintenance on any unit to extend the life to its maximum capacity. Make sure that grass, weeds, and other debris are kept clear from the unit, especially in summer months. Change your air filters every 3 to 9 months, and have a reputable HVAC technicianservice the unit once a year.
